An 11-year-old in the United Kingdom has earned the highest possible Mensa IQ test score, placing him ahead of Albert Einstein This is the highest possible score for under-18s and in the top 1%.
I took the mensa practice test. Turns out I'm only slightly above average with a percentile score of 66 which is about a 115-125 IQ or so. I know a 30min test doesn't mean all that much, but I can't but feel as though I've been knocked down a few pegs. I Paid 10$ to feel like shit. This thread is archived.
Intelligence test scores typically follow what is known as a normal distribution, or a bell-shaped curve in which most scores lie near or around the average IQ test score. For example, the majority of scores (about 68%) on the Wechsler IQ tests tend to lie between plus 15 or minus 15 points from the average score of 100.
iq scores in a certain population are normally distributed. it is given that: (1) 13% of people have iq that does not exceed 80. (2) mensa is an organization whose members have iqs in the top 3% of the population. the minimum iq score required for admission to mensa is 128. 9(a) find the mean and the standard deviation of iq scores. round your
However, if we rearrange the score into "one in X people", then every point adds quite a lot to X. For example, if answering 35 questions with certainty gives you IQ of 135 (STD 15, 1 point = 1 IQ), then you're one in 102 (top 1%). If, however, you successfully guess just one more question correctly - you're one in 122 (top 0.8%).
FYI, 97th percentile is a cumulative probability. It's the same as saying top 3 percentile. The score of 91 OP posted is a raw score which can be looked up against tables to estimate IQ, but it shouldn't be confused with the IQ itself. 2. Dave37.
