Well I swapped my egr valve about two months ago. And I did fit a "Quality part" Valeo 700474 on my Peugeot Partner tepee 1.6 hdi 2010 and I did the recalibration of egr valve and butterfly mixer (guessing theese two are in the egr assembly as a whole). Your engine computer fails to see any voltage change as it attempts to open or close the EGR indicating it is stuck in one position. Codes P0490 EGR control circuit "A" means no high voltage change to indicate the EGR is opening or closing. P0489 is basically identical but it means circuit low as opposed to high.
